I started the site Anti Valentine just before Valentine's Day last year, and it has done reasonably well in terms of hits/revenue in January/February 2006/7 (obviously traffic dries up during the rest of the year). It does well in the search engines - most people reach it through 'anti valentine' or similar keywords, for which the site is usually near the top of the results, depending on the search engine and where you're based. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to improve the site - particularly how I can get a bit more money from it because it's only visited for two months of the year so I need to really grab the attention of visitors then. I don't want to plaster AdSense all over the site, but other than that I'm open to any suggestions.
The design is very plain, try to add some graphics or photographs in your content area. For your adsense ads, I would change the url color to black for better blending. After making the design appealing, to monetize your site further, you can try some affiliate programs
