Hello. The question I need an answer to is: Is it legal to create as example an Anti-facebook page where I would post the things people need to know about how they are abusing privacy, how they save pictures etc.? Would a domain like "antifacebook.com" also be illegal? Whats the law about this things? I mean it is kinda offending... Thanks for your help wonderful people
Dont know about the legality, but be carefull, as once you start the ball rolling, it can get out of hand.
IANAL, but yes, you can. You're allowed to have opinions (free speech) and have websites where users can post their opinions. There are plenty of "sucks" and "anti" websites for various products and companies. You have to be careful, though; keep it clean, non-malicious. Even if it's all user-submitted content/stories, it doesn't mean you can't be held liable. See a lawyer, get a good set of T&Cs put together. He or she will explain to you what is and isn't generally consider OK and might even give examples of cases where people have successfully defended themselves against sucky megacorps. (Although these are generally easy to find using a search engine.)
Thanks for your answer. So the following example should be legal: I am hosting a website, domain contra-facebook.com . I am posting content there which doesn't represent facebook good, but the content i present is no lie, it's a fact. I tell people that they should delete their facebook account. (I am not really hosting this website right now, it's just for the example) IANAL xD
Take a look at PayPalSucks.com (as an example). Is your content going to be similar? As long as you're not attacking/bad mouthing Facebook, you can write your opinions. "I don't like Facebook or the timeline." And I could be illustrating such a comment with a screen shot (or hand drawn image) pointing out the various things I don't like and how I would have designed it. That's just criticism (and constructive, too). Or you could write about a bad experience with Facebook moderators, for example. As long as you're relating facts that they can't disprove and you can prove, as long as you're not being abusive, then it's OK. Again, IANAL, but there are a lot of websites out there (and have been for a long time) where people can express opinions and experience. You also might find their domain name disputes page interesting: http://www.paypalsucks.com/domain-name-disputes.shtml As for deleting accounts: look at how PayPalSucks.com words about PayPal alternatives (actually the page is on screw-paypal.com). I don't think it's a good idea to try to encourage people to move away from FB, but instead just write about the alternatives, for people who are interested. But you are best asking a lawyer (some allegedly post on DP). This is just opinions based upon reading sucks/anti sites (or cases) over the years.
