Ok, you're right that direct and realistic threats of murder are rare. But what I meant is that vulgar language is rather common (unless all your friends are priests and nuns or something). Almost every day in my Facebook news feed I see someone posted something like "F**k I cut my finger! Ow! F**k" or "The f***ing airline lost my bag! F**k these c***s!" on their wall.

If you've ever played Xbox live, even in car racing games that are supposed to be for everyone, you can hear players curse like sailors. While I am not offended by that language in any way, I don't think it would be too much of a good idea to let an 8 year old see this kind of language, hence why young kids are not supposed to be on these services in the first place.

As for FB claiming ownership of posted content, while I understand that some could be opposed to that, this wouldn't be much of a problem for the majority of users. It's not like I write epic poetry on my wall or anything.

    I LOL'd :D

Well, I'm not on Facebook, instead, I'm on LinkedIn every day, but I'll take your word for it because that sounds true.

My teenage nephew is on the couch playing XBox Live every single day. Thanks for the heads-up!

you know, I would complain that he's inside playing XBox and not outside with his friends, except that most everyone from his high school also spends most of their time online...
