Hi all Few years ago I tried my first time in online business. I made Wordpress amazon review website from scratch and in a year, I made $40 from Amazon and about $30 from Adsense. I was in very bad situation as my day job didn't pay me at all, so after a year, I couldn't even afford a hosting. I never went over the amount needed to get paid by Amazon and Adsense. I was very disappointed and gave up. Now, I see I made mistake and I am sorry cause I didn't push that work longer. I want to start again and now I have some small money to invest. My general knowledge is wide but I am not a specialist in anything. I know how to build, basic design and use Wordpress and Joomla. I learned a little about PPC, affiliate marketing, list building, email autoresponders, SEO basics, link building etc. Somehow it looks to me that reading and watching videos about web will not get me anywhere and I need to start doing something again. I am thinking about buying a small cheep website and work on it so eventually, I can learn how to start making some money. After that I would expand in the way I find the best. Can you recommend me what should I pay attention to and what to learn before starting? I saw a few websites for $50 and they are much better then the one I have build few years ago. Since I am interested in photography, I might buy one about that and write some articles and promote it. I see websites for sale that make eeg $3 monthly and they are on sale for $100. What is the catch with these? It could probably be improved soon... At least i think... Can someone share with me their experiences about starting like this? Thank you Clash
I see you're now determined to do an online business, but look again carefully at what you posted. "I learned a little about PPC, affiliate marketing, list building, email autoresponders, SEO basics, link building etc." Don't you think you take too much on your back? If you focus on everything nothing will be perfect. I advice firstly to focus on one and then make next steps.
Been pretty much where you are now.. Started out building niche sites promoting affiliate offers. If I had to start again, building sites, would not be for me, at least they would not be my immediate focus. I would promote high converting affiliate offers, and use video marketing, for me personally I found it produced faster results, with less effort....just my opinion
I see what you mean. But if I want to make and run websites, I have to know all those things. At least a little, I believe. Can you give me idea how it should work? I learn SEO and then buy finished website and SEO it? What else? How do you promote them? With out website? You make your own videos and post on Youtube? I understand this could be a secret, but if you can, please let me know.
Hi I wouldnt call it a secret as such, there is plenty of information out there, giving you the basics, Website not essential but helpful, there are lots of different ways you can approach it. If you want you can hit me up on facebook, I dont want to break any forum rules, hope that helps.
If your are very interested in second term of your online business then I suggest you to choose some niche on which you have authority. As you said you have photography knowledge then try to have a blog on photography or you can start with some micro niche, Do you know anything about Pokemon Go, its on of the hottest micro niche this time if you try to write some post .
Dude you need to seriously audit your previous business and figure out what went wrong. So far I haven't made that much money with online stuff but I never spent more than my returns.
No. Just no. You don't make a "mistake" and you shouldn't be "sorry cause I didn't push that work longer". You did it for a year and made $70. Your site sucked. It's web based, meaning there are millions of people out there. If you aren't creating compelling content and an audience (at least enough to have all of your costs of the site covered) within 90 days, your idea belongs in the trash and you should try something else. I'm not being a dick, just being honest.
