I've read around here and seems like no one can tell why a site or some pages of a site goes to supplemental. I recently found out that some of my pages are showing that result and I couldn't figure out why. Of course, keywords related to the page are out of top 100 in the middle of nowhere I guess due to the supplemental page result. (Interesting thing is, according to google site map, pages are still showing in the results which in reality, they are not.) 1. I update fresh content, daily 2. Pages that goes to supplemental has traffic, daily 3. No, I don't have all same title, descriptions and tags 4. Yes, I have back link for those pages and inner links. Before I figure out why they went to the hell, I'd like to figure out how to fix that. So, if you have experiences, any of how to get out of that hell... plz advice. Here is what I am thinking about doing. 1. re-write the page that has been supplemental, add some more content 2. try to get some more links to those pages 3. adding more cross inner links with pages that are not supplemental Any thoughts are welcomed.
Supplemental results for 'original content' type pages are almost always a simple function of the inbound links - both to the site as a whole, and deeplinks to the individual pages. So the only way out is to get more, better quality, more relevant, inbound links. My experience has been that these can be to the homepage or the individual pages, and both will work, as long as the internal structure means the deep pages are not many clicks from the homepage - an internal sitemap can help with that.
I would NOT rewrite all pages. Do build quality inbound links and find other ways of getting traffic to your site, besides google.
Sounds like backlink will be the simple solution? I am building links daily... both to the main site and the pages so...
