Another reason why Alexa rankings are crap...

    According to alexa, my website was ranked 60,000 and was well ahead of some of the major authority sites such as shoemoney. Well, obviously that wasn't true since my site only got 200 uniques.

    Just another reason why alexa rankings are so unreliable.

    yeah alexa ranking just give you some idea. But with proxies and bots the traffic ranking is getting manipulated easily and is being done by many these days.

    You can send more than 100000000 bot traffic and your alexa rank will get updated.

    Yes I found Alexa to be only a very general idea of traffic, just as pagerank is only a general idea of link popularity

    Yup. And I know plenty myself :)

    But once again, the weird bit is that I didn't use any bots since it was only 200 hits.

    Why do you guys wanna screw it up by using Bots and other Techniques to increase your rankings when you dont wanna believe in your Alexa Ranking.

    Its nice to check your Alexa ranking regularly to give you a rough idea about your Sites Visitors Across the world.

    alexa is not reliable at all .coz it mostly relys on its toolbar users for the data and most of the traffic is not from them
