Another question from a peon

Sorry if I missed this, but according to the posting guidelines I can post promotional stuff for my sites. I'm just now starting a new site and would like to know the most appropriate place on the forums to promote to grow traffic. (I'm trying not to step on any toes)

you can ask for a review in the review section. that's the best place for you.
you will get the live signature very soon, just have patience.

also you can buy live signature from someone, but then you have to go to the buy section, and for that you will have to wait.

i suggest you, do nothing for the 14 days, and then post a couple of such posts in the general section. after that you wll be allowed to post every where on the forum.

don't spam, don't put your links too much. just try to help others, sometimes you will get questions in many places in this forum which you can answer. so, start helping others, and make a happy stay here!

 

Thanks for the tips. I do enjoy this forum very much. Admins or whoever deserves these thanks, I hope you get them. Slowly but surely I'm understanding why the regulations and rules are in place.

 

Ok can someone please explain this to me. I just received an infraction for posting in the improper forum when I had come to this forum to explicitly find out where to go for the promotion. I posted where I was told to.

Emphasis on the fact that I'm new around here and still trying to figure this out. My thread was moved to buy/sell/trade which I don't have access to yet? What the heck?

just wait for 3 to six months, till the infraction lasts.
though this category was not too bad for this post, anyways in the general category, this post could have been beter. as you were not promoting anything here and you just wanted to have a query, the general category is the best for such posts.

anyways, don't get hurt by the infraction, just wait for some time and the infraction will automatically expire. and now be careful, as another infraction might get you in problems.
