    These are very common.
Be immediately suspicious of any email that starts with a generic greeting like "Dear PayPal customer".
The real PayPal know your name and will always use it.

Yeap these are very common, there is even a Pay Pal lucky draw scam recently quite funny, the scammers are getting innovative. We may soon see Paypal phishing scams and Nigerian 419 scams merging :)

I get these a few times a week. One thing I have learned is to NEVER EVER go into paypal through any email. Even if I think something is really from paypal I still don't click on a link

The safest way is to type out http://www.paypal.com on the location bar, it would take a few seconds and guarantee that you are 100% safe from such phishing which are getting more and more realistic and cunning.

100% right. I didn't knew that yet. I checked my paypal emails and all them have "Dear (name)"..

    Thanks

Thanks for the heads up. Never click a link in the email. If you are concerned about this. Log-in directly to your paypal account.
