Another one to watch out for (apparent fraud submission)

On March 3rd, a submission was made to Alive Directory for savings.com. Being such a good (seemingly legitimate) domain name, it looked very reputable to me. Even when I received notification from PayPal that the payment was being investigated, I thought it must just be some mistake or glitch and that it would sort out...so, the listing remained active on the site. However, today I received notification that the order was indeed fraud and that the funds had been returned to the account holder. So, I thought I would drop this note to warn others. Seems like it's one to watch out for.

Regardless of domain name, I wouldn't have approved the link until the investigation had conceded.
If an investigation were to start after the fact, then I would immediately drop it into pending status, again, until the investigation had conceded.

Just one of those lessons learned :)

    Thanks for the post.

Yes, it was after the fact. Payment was completed intially with no problem, and then PayPal started their own investigation, which is not common. If it had been a chargeback notification, I would have put it back into pending, but I thought it had to have been some sort of mistake or glitch. Anyway, that's why I posted the warning. :)

I had the exact same issue with that site. It was submitted on the 9th of March and the next day Paypal put the funds on hold until today that the payment was reversed. Like Mystikmedia says the investigation was initiated by Paypal which is not common and I thought it was just a random routine check, so I left the listing live until today that the payment was reversed. Plus by leaving the listing online I thought it would be clearer to the Paypal people what was paid for and make it obvious that it was delivered.

I think we really need to be careful on buying submission services out there. I personally don't rely on someone to submit my links, but those who buy such services should be very careful.

Not another one :-( I just don't get why people do this sort of thing. Thanks for the warning.
