This is one of those reviews where I am asking a simple question to garner feedback from a number of people: "When you click on the link below, is it obvious to you what is being sold or what this promotion is all about?" Gomers Template for osCommerce

    Thanks everyone in advance:

That is my fear, even though the products shown are fictitious products that are acting merely as placeholders, I feel I have about 5 seconds for the web visitor to fully understand what they are looking at.

Gomeza, I understand what you're saying -- my attention was immediately drawn to the games.

What I recommend you do is place the demo further down the page OR have it on a completely separate page. Alternatively you could change the "This is a demo, all products are fictitious, the payment gateway is disabled." notice to a red and larger font so that it stands out more.

Also, I suggest you design a different logo/header. It's too generic looking at the moment and does look a bit amateurish. You should also rewrite the product information so that it is in point form and it's main features are highlighted -- no one likes reading paragraphs of information when they quickly want to find out what the product actually is.

    All the best,
    Liam

It did take a second to figure out what was going on.
Ponynugget's idea is a great one. You should have a welcome page with the intro and what you are offering and then on a separate page have the demo.

Maybe something like THIS, or THIS or possibly THIS

    Thanx Ponynugget, zorah and eruct

I've instituted some of the suggestions made and have also developed a new approach of using splash pages with screenshots leading to the store demo. It is much clearer to vistors now.

    Hi leroyboseevus

    The changes are visible: HERE
I am going to do more in the way of changes but at the moment I am dealing with a dozen or so sales of the template this week. The next change will be a list of some of the stores that are under development with this template. The before and after effect is dramatic (as this one HERE) and should have an impact on sales.
