I pick one of the google referral products offering like $3 per referral. I wont tell you my choice. Then, I make a homepage only about the domain, having done research on it, etc. I major my page on it and put my adsense referral code strategically. Assuming its a trial product people are supposed to download, Do you think If i submit the website to over 200-250 top rated directories, and have it listed by google, do you sincerely think I can have like 1000 downloads of my product? Remember I already have a list of top bookmarking sites and directories, do you think Having such objective content, and my web directories idea would generate this within a month or so? If you want the list of the Directories, pm me!
i highly doubt that you will get 1000 download by submitting to 250 directories in a month. directories perform very poorly when it comes to traffic. SB sites will give you some traffic but don;t expect too much traffic tho. it is the organic traffic which you need to target. do all the SEO work and improve your SERP which will give you traffic and downloads btw, i don;t understand how this is a noble idea. are you doing this for charity?
Somethings just need to be tried out. Trial and error can take you a long way and work a hell of a lot better than asking for advice. It might cost you money, but you come out on top. In your idea, I can't really see you wasting any money... so just try it.
I tried the google referral ads on a few sites a while ago, and generally found the results pretty disappointing. I later trialed a couple of other cpa network ads on the same sites, and while the results weren't spectacular, they were significantly better than I achieved with the google referral ads. All things considered, there are much better ways to monetize your traffic than by running google ads all over the place. That is of course if your sites are providing good quality real content. If you are operating crappy auto-generated sites then it isn't going to matter what you run on your pages, your earnings are going to be crappy too. In my experience, selling an actual product of some sort, whether it be your own or an affiliate product, is much more profitable than running ads for someone else to sell a product!
Yeah, I agree with the above post...maybe it's just me, but referrals have never performed well for me. I recently started a somewhat similar idea, not exactly but close, and it's been very underwhelming results...
Count me in too.. Referral Ads never worked well for me. If you are planning to do it, then I'd suggest you to go with commission junction or any other affiliate program.
