Day 7: Hands-Off for 2 Weeks To avoid time wasted and to maintain balance of mind, we are not touching the website for 2 weeks. This will give the search engines time to update any data that has been modified, as well as give the search engines time to crawl all the other blogs and websites that have our back links. We will check back on how everything (both the website and on this forum) is doing in 2 weeks. On another note, Transformers was great, Michael Bay did an excellent job! See you guys in 2 weeks.
The domain name itself should put you up to the top in the search engines soon. Good luck with the venture!
A great thread and good luck with it. Can you just expand on the bit about 'contextually embedded' please ... what exactly does that mean? Thanks.
Tom, Contextually embedding it means instead of just spamming our URL, I would put something like: Proactive worked for my cousin and now his acne is completely gone. You can buy directly from Amazon for under $20 at... (url here) In a few days, I will talk to my partner on this and get the Adsense stats and post it here. I think so far it has made $11, which is not bad for first 2 weeks. But I will be posting the exact revenue and stats here later this week. I hope this is open source venture of ours is helping webmasters and online entrepreneurs here!
It is much appreciated - a live case-study is the greatest learning tool of all. How did you select the 250 blogs and did you check the 'nofollow' status of the blogs? Thanks.
thanks for sharing your progress. A lot of people are hesitant to do so, but this shows you that if you just get out and start doing something then little by little it will start to work!
tomkelly, me and my partner from DP went through all those blogs manually--it was a time consuming process but hard work pays off it is is done in a strategic way. No, I did not check the nofollow status of the blog; my partner may or may not have, I cannot speak for him. infebious, you are absolutely right. A lot of people are hesitant to show all their cards because they feel other people will steal their idea but I believe open source is the way to go. For the record, you can take my idea, take my content, and anything else you need to start your own venture (I am not a fan of copyrights, patents, trademarks, etc.) I am 100% in favor of open information. Day 16 - 1 Amazon Sale I recieved 1 amazon sale of a AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System--it is from my cousin. However, he purchased it because of the website. I want to point out that your traffic/leads/sales need not be 100% from strangers from the Internet--you can make money through friends and family that believe in your product, service or just want to support you! I am still waiting for the item to ship and finalize so I can see how much that made. Here are the stats for this month so far: Day Number of visits Pages Hits Bandwidth 01 Jul 2009 23 30 72 1.05 MB 02 Jul 2009 21 25 44 491.40 KB 03 Jul 2009 18 31 40 336.27 KB 04 Jul 2009 63 352 692 7.28 MB 05 Jul 2009 22 28 57 490.53 KB 06 Jul 2009 23 35 78 1.11 MB
Hi all, just posting the adsense update. We are just starting day 17 and already near $14! I added a couple of unique content pages because google like fresh content.
Day 17: Earned $13.53 via Adsense So Far By the way, for those who are not aware, sub7 is my DP partner on this project.
Hi IronManv8, I've subscribed to this thread because I want to know how far your ventures would go. And I say it's looking good. I would like to know if posting that Amazon product on your homepage and displaying it along with Google Ad Sense is allowed? I thought AdSense only allows other competitor ads as long as they are contextual or inline text ads and not other banner ads? Please share your thoughts. THanks.
Good work on your joint venture. A JV can be good for everyone. You can complete twice as much as you could working alone and you get the benefits of having another take on the changes you make to the website. I think it's a win win situation for both people. Good work and keep on going!!!
