From my knowledge this product had been launched since the tsunami that made a lot of disasters to Japan. "Google Person Finder helps people reconnect with friends and loved ones in the aftermath of natural and humanitarian disasters." It's a great product for those kind of problems.
Yes, it's a new one! But it started when tsunami occurred in Japan. You can start it from - http://google.org/personfinder/global/home.html I am excited about the service. Why not check it out! New technology is always welcome!
We Need To Find a Person Only In Such Circumstance when there is not internet and Google.. Then How this service would beneficial ?
I agreed with you imfusa. This is an awesome service by Google and it'll be appreciated by whole world if Google starts this service worldwide.
. . . . if there are no security issues. I'm not sure I'd like my wife's or daughters information to be made public in this way, so I;m interested to see how it works out. Certainly it's a good thing to offer, but as usual, I'm sure there will be those who abuse this system, so it really needs to be policed and setup securely in the first instance.
i think people will register with this service understand the privacy risk and the fun being found on the net..
It's to help in connecting people when some natural calamities occurred..! How every it's in develop stage ....Hope google going to do some more good tools...
This is just pretool, I guess it will be used by app developers and will lead to something bigger but now it is just smart idea but not really useful.
Google Person finder is good tool but not powerful enough. The purpose of creating this tool is great but if google really want to help than they need to at least tell about this tool to people so we can use it.
