I happen to check one of the ads in my email and after I saw it I wanted to close the page Guess what I got, an exit popup window saying the following:

I wanted to see what the free tool they will give me and I filled in the form. But when I check my email they sent me another ad urging me to buy their product. We call this a lie or what?? I am asking this because This very thing happened to me not once not twice but a handful of times. And I dont know if this is called marketing tactic. I am really offended.

It was one of the most annoying marketing strategies out there right now besides some of downright misleading ones. I don't use them and will not promote a product if the creator is using one.

Just because it is normal doesn't mean it works, some of the exit pops and strategies being used are becoming so annoying that they are turning me off, it looks desperate.

Haha, be glad that you only got one exit pop up.
Some sites have about 20 of them and it's so freaking annoying.
I never sign up for those things because I know it's all crap just to get sign-ups.

I fully agree, I am sick of the ways that some marketers try to get you to sign up to their lists by way of more than one pop up...

The worst part is that if you are already on their list you end up with duplicate emails being sent with "Buy This" and you will make a fortune online! What a load of trash... surely they are catering to the brainless... and show total lack of regard for the fact that we may actually know what we want... these practices are only there to hook newbies... so they should stop insulting the average Joe Marketers intellegence...

Hmm... This method is used by a lot of Internet Marketer to promote product but it is quite annoying.
Maybe they can provide some values before trying to sell something to their subscribers.
