No actually controlling people is the job of religious leaders. Liberals are keeping people stupid you say while the Bush administration tells people there's no civil war in Iraq and we didn't go there for nothing.
If that made sense I'd take a moment to properly reply. Instead I'll just quote it back at you and let you read it again to see if you can see how ridiculous it sounds?

Poll Question: Between liberals and conservatives, who would be more likely to side with big business over average citizens.

Poll Question: Between liberals and conservatives, who would be most likely to be considered corrupt?

    No surprises there.

I can play stereotype the opposition too. Yay!

Back on topic..... It actually causes me physical pain (seriously) to see a person (ESPECIALLY an American) desecrate an American flag. I don't like it anymore than I like seeing KKK members march. But I am also happy and proud to say that i live in a country so free that a person can do either of those if they want to. Same country where we have the freedom to worship who and what we want (or not).

well as stated in many places, they must have many flag stores in the middle east, a business i might look into. but all jokes aside, it is a shame.

Both. Starting from the top down, harry reid. john kerry taking political donations from the chinese army. Politics are politics. kerry received more money from special interest groups than any other senator. Siding with big business holds no political boundaries. Liberal judges side with the ACLU (big business) despite conflicts of interest.

Who hid a hundred thousand dollars in their freezer? Who took campaign funds from the chinese army? Once again, political corruption holds no political boundaries.

True, but you can do better. Not the best of examples you could have used.

No objections there, though I have no use for either types of scum.

I don't care if someone burns the flag or not.

But a teacher bunring the flag inside the classroom will never be acceptable.

So burning a "piece of cloth" that represents millions and millions of lives and freedom and rights and demonstrates a hatred towards those main things means nothing to you but a fire threat does?

So what do you think should happen to flag burners?

Listen to all this whining and nobody will say what they think should be done.

From the article, sounds like good intentions gone wrong. Sounds like he was trying to get them emotional about the topic to have the students write a paper. I think he should have found a less offensive way to do such.

Does he deserve to go to jail? Most likely not. Is he an idiot? NO doubt, YES! ;)

Of you whining or you not putting forth a solution to things you are whining about? Which would you prefer?

Burning a flag might be considered treason, because the flag represents EVERYTHING about a country, so essentially it's saying you want the US to be destroyed, by burning a flag.

The same thing that happened to them in 48 of 50 states prior to the supreme courts 1989 decision. Look up the laws in your state regarding the burning of flags, pre 1989. We will call this BYO (before yo-yo).

Meanwhile you have yet to answer the question about what freedoms you have lost. You know, those freedoms this "country USED to have"?

I agree. To me it is high-treason. As I said before, I am not a vexillogogist, but I have studied the flag quite a bit, and do feel rather confident I am up to date on most issues concerning the American flag, its care and display.

If you want to express extreme duress with the US Flag, you are free to do so. Just fly your American flag upside down. There is no reason to burn it, unless it is torn, tattered, dirty, or touches the ground.

What's next, burning crosses in gym class? Crucifixions during recess?
