    Nice review! ;)

BTW, what is the charge to be listed in your directory? It doesn't have a price on the submit page but has a paypal banner?

Well as always a good thought out description of a very relevent directory...

I have just recently added one of my directories to this directory and was very impressed
with the fact that the 2nd page had just as much PR as the main did which is something that is unusual in most.

like you mentioned above the listings are very affordable and well worth the price of submission...
plus the owner is very trustworthy and my site was included within the hour so definatly
a must get listed in directory from my point of view...

very good review solidghost... keep up the excellent work...

    thx

Thanks for an host review. Although I do not agree with this statement "Lacking ... and quality listings" everything thing else was good. There are in fact some prettey powerful websites listed in the directory and you will find those mostly in the top level categories of the directory. Funny you mentioned the RSS at the top of the page and how it is distracting on featured listing pages, I agree with statement and I will fix that asap.

As for google search, we chose this to help with getting the pages indexed on a faster basis, my theroy is that google loves to provide information and therefore although alot of searches may not be done, if some does search are done google wants to make sure that the information is there for the viewer.

I am pleased with this review. Good job.

banless: Hmm....you have a point with Google search, but why not include both? An internal search and a Google search?

Meethere: Are you talking about website submission or the directory review?

@Meethere: Think the next public PR update will be in a few week's time. Once it is up, you can add it in, no problems.

@Obelia: I hope it to be a fair and honest review. But I am sure that there are people who disagree with the review, which is normal. I mean, we are all humans and have different opinions and ideas.

    @WWS: Thanks.

One thing I found in your reviews, you base your valuation on the premise that the site will be used for direct searches.

Even very popular directories like Yahoo, DMOZ, BOTW and others aren’t very used for direct searches, and probably the insignificant traffic they give is from "long tail" searches that end up on a directory page.

So I think the main focus of directories should be
    1º SEO (Strong Backlink)
    2º catching “long tail” searches
    3º direct searches.

For SEO proposes the less links a directory as the better :)

Great idea for a directory. I like it a lot.

Why not just delete it out of submit.php (or submit.tpl) ?

    thanks, submitted a couple.

@ Ask!: Well, you are partly correct. But I guess that is what a directory is supposed to be, a place for people to search for relevant and useful information and sites. More good sites, more information, more traffic. And a lot of directories are being advertised as such. Full of quality, spam-free sites. Though, nowadays a lot of directories are being used as an SEO tool only. Not that it is a bad thing, but I guess maybe I am a little old fashion.

@ SM: If your sites have a PR4 and above, I have added them in. Thanks for submitting.
