that gem graphic used in that stock photo IS NOT copyrighted It's a shape just like circle and no one own copyright to it. It's how you style it that makes it different. I would say all of the gems used in the entries in this contest have been used 100s of times. and there is nothing wrong with it. It's a shape. It's not someone's invention or design. At least not in the last 50 years some images are copyright free and no one has ownership to them.
My gem hasn't been used 100s of times, hehe, traced it myself, lol. I think it's a shame that not many people put real work into their designs and just rip off ideas left right and center though. It shows very little respect for the person asking for a logo... "Here, have a googled image and some font, neither of which I created but I'll happily take your money." It is what it is though, a few of us witnessed a Apple icon win a competition the other day and it says it all. Why invest 3 hours in something when some clown is gonna come along and post something pre-made...? The irony is that it becomes perpetual and the overall quality is lowered. I'm not judging anyone though just saying what I see.
@bakerbaker, traced or drawn there is a big difference there in illustrator anyway, the one the contest holder likes the most wins
we still put some work on it and its more than enough. most people here offer around $20 for a logo and lets say u work on that logo 2 hrs and its still not 100% sure that u will win. so thats what they should expect. well im talkin about me but i assume thats what most people think.. why would u waste hours to work on a logo when the prize is not guarantied and even if u win it will be like nothing for the work u have done.

o.k.----another really hard one!!! NO BULL! most all my team the ALL-STARS represented.
