I'm curious what exactly would you define as a "victory over terror". What's the point when you could say "we've won the war on terror"?

personally, I doubt this war will ever be over...I doubt we will ever be able to say "we've won the war on terror." On the other hand, I also believe that anything we do to show that we are winning only helps our cause. Packing up and going home doesn't help, except to show the terrorists that we are running. That being said, I fully expect Iraq to have military help for a long time, much in the same way that Afghanistan still has help. Even Shrillary Clinton said that troops would stay in Iraq for a long time. This is not a war in which the commander of an army will sign a peace treaty (as Japan did in WWII)...this is a war where Islamic Facists will not stop until they A) control the world or B) blow themselves (and their own people) up in the process...

So how can you show that you are winning if you think the war can't be won?

Just because I said that I do not believe that we will never fully win, that doesn't mean we can't be winning....I see it as winning that we have not had another 9/11...I see it as winning that we have all those people down in Gitmo confessing to all their hanus crimes. I see it as winning that Saddam is dead and bin laden on the run...I guess you prefer for us to lose though since you have to question it?
