Just curious... where does it way we can't use referral links? Seeing as how they are all over the board, I figured they were okay. Anyway, thanks for all the bad rep guys.
K, I see that... don't really think my link was "spam", but it's cool. Oh, thanks for the bad rep once again. Jeez people, come on.
I can only echo the comments above, whilst Adsense consistently has 4x the clicks of Chitika the earnings were pretty much the same. If Chitika sort their adverts out (allow a bit more customistation, better targetting) and generally make them a look a bit nicer (bit nasty with the fading in images etc) they could do really well. I will drop adsense completely on the site in question if the targetting gets better, that is the reason for reduced CTR in my opinion
Posted my experience with Chitika after day 1 and some general chitika tips at http://chitikatips.blogspot.com
Not sure I understand the better targetting point. I can pick a product by name and have it show up in an ad. I don't think you can get any better targetting than that.
I was told that running Chitika ads of any type and adsense ads on the same pages was going to get me banned from AdSense ?
Nope, many of use have been told by Google directly that it is okay... as long as the other ads are non-contextual.
I signed up with my site that sells software I make, such as databases etc, and got the rejection email. I signed up again a couple days later using my site on Cryptozoology, with stuff about Bigfoot, Nessie, Mothman, etc..... and got accepted so who really knows what they want ? lol
I just signed up with a brand new adsense made site. It has around 10 pages with 3 adsense ads on each one of them. I wonder if i get accepted.
Do you guys have the mini malls (chitika) ads rotate through a bunch of keywords for each site you put the code on, or just one keyword per ad depending on that page or site ? Do you de-activate or keep the 'search' feature active ?
If you are using Google Adsense on your website it's adviced to turn the search feature in Chitika off... Because of possible interference with the Google TOS... My ads point at a single keyword. And I noticed they products change quite frequent. I had an 'Ipod Mini' ad on the other day, then it started showing a lot less attractive Ipod mini cover instead of the ipod, but changing the keywords to 'Ipod Mini 4GB' did the trick... And this is just a simple example. You can target litteraly any product in their database...
