Like the priest of a popular religion. Its somewhat comic to watch the medical industry go back on forth on foods.

Eggs are bad for you, eggs are good for you.
One glass of wine per day is good for you, any amount of alcohol is bad for you.
Avocados... fattening, Avocados.... provide good fat helping to keep you thin.

Another thing western science does as a practice is isolation of active ingredients from naturally occurring substances. Stox earlier talked about how people "would not be given oil" as a medicine for an ailment, and instead the active ingredient would be identified and sold. It sounds great at face value, but it doesn't always have the desired effect. Consuming a synthesized, concentrated dose of a substance not naturally occurring on its own does not always have the desired effect. I'm fairly certain dietitians will tell you vitamins obtained from the natural fruits and vegetables in which they occur are more readily accepted by the body than concentrated vitamin pills, most of which get flushed out your rectum 80% unabsorbed.

We are busy treating depression with anti-depression drugs trying to make up for a chemical that the depressed are supposedly a bit shy of. It turns out the introduction of that chemical by unnatural means, while having a proven beneficial effect on the symptom(depression), actually causes the body to produce even less of the chemical, making the person depending on the drug for life. Sounds like a perfect financial setup for the drug companies but hardly treats the cause instead of the symptom. We throw antibiotics at infections which work very well, and also create more stronger and more radical infectious diseases. We take protein supplements to strengthen weak bones instead of exercise which does a much better job of it. We actually foster peanut allergies in our young children by not giving them foods with peanuts for fear of peanut allergies. The list goes on and on and on and on.

I'm not saying western medicine doesn't have its place or isn't beneficial. I'd say the majority of the time, the unintended results of these medicines are better than the alternative of going untreated. The extremely dangerous place it seems we all to often go is to treat these people as priests who have all the answers and whose answer is final and authoritative. Our medical industry is a "For Profit" industry heavily influenced by the drug companies. To deny that all that money would have them selling you drugs and treatment when something simple and natural would suffice is pure ignorance. To deny that all that money has not made them work at disparaging and discrediting other forms of treatment is pure idiocy.

That is awesome. I've never heard of both of those methods used together, but I LOVE trigger point therapy, it's helped me so many times and there's nothing woo-woo about it. Hope it works.

Go figure what? A doctor missed a condition. What's your point? Or are you just posting a random article hoping that we will just assume it supports your position?

A high school student is more interested in health than a medical doctor. Kind of reflects the lackadaisical attitude of doctors if you ask me.

Considering that this is an unusual story id suggest it reflects nothing but your dishonest attempt to highlight a single isolated case and imply it's the norm and indicative of doctors abilities in general.. don't worry though, I'll always be around to correct your errors in logic, whether they are deliberately dishonest or a result of your, let's say, substandard capacity.

How do you know? Are you a doctor? Do you have any personal experience with cancer? My brother is a doctor and when he noticed a lump in his son arm, he told me that if it is a cancer, he will refuse the treatment and let's his son have a good death. Luckily it wasn't cancer. I will also refuse a treatment if I am diagnosed with cancer and try to enjoy the last months of my life instead of trying to extend the length of my life for couple of month and live in misery and pain since I have seen the effect of treatment and the type of death it causes in couple of people close to me.

Your brother sounds absolutely disgusting and irresponsible. Let me guess, religious? He also sounds as illeducted as you are on the subject, Which leads me to believe that you have invented this brother and fabricated this story to give your otherwise ill informed opinion credibility.

"lumps" on external parts of the body are generally benign tumors, They are noninvasive cancers and in most cases can be treated with nothing more than simple surgery under local anesthetic, If treated at all. If the surgery fails to remove all cancerous cells the remaining cells will sometimes be treated with low level radio/chemotherapy, though not many benign cancers respond to to it.

But your brother sounds like you, if he exists at all, he hears cancer and instantly thinks death is better than the treatment (which makes my doubtful that he is a doctor) and resigns his son to a "good death", Even though the likely treatment if this kids lump did turn out to be a tumor would have been a half hour surgery under local anesthetic.

In a way i'm glad that those who are ill educated are so willing to die, it adds chlorine to the gene pool, it's just a shame their children have to pay the price for their stupidity too.

Probably happier, But only because ill informed people are saddened when their baseless opinions are dismantled. If you want to be surrounded by inferior "happy" people i'm sure we can arrange a visit to a mental institution. If, however, you want to be a part of an intellectually superior society where people trust and understand scientific treatments, how they work, how we know they work and why we should make use of them, get on board.

Inferior? Who the f*ck do you think you are? What have you done in your life that makes you superior to others?

Don't be a clown stox, if I wanted to make you look like a complete fool I could, very easily. In fact, it's been done already, many times over. You know a little bit about science and athiesm but please don't act like you're some intellectual juggernaut. Everyone gets put in their place around here sometime or another, don't think you're an exception.

ps. It's no surprise you're a socialist, "I'm superior, you're inferior, I'm elite, you are nothing."

Strong words coming from a guy who with a primary school level of reading comprehension. I'd say if belonging to an "intellectually superior" society meant putting up with the type of bile your posts normally consist of, I'll take whatever the other option is. With an attitude like that, I bet you get your ass kicked a lot at whatever high school it is you attend.

I've done a lot of things that make me superior. I have had an extensive education, I have had worthwhile, important jobs and i have done an enormous amount of charitable work.

But being superior isn't really about what an individual has done, it's about what they have achieved in comparison to others. So yes, in comparison to people who want their kids to have a "good death" instead of treatment and those who try to argue against scientifically proven treatments using nothing but their lack of education as the defence i am superior

I frankly find the idea that people and opinions are equal fatuous and obscene. I have worked harder than most to achieve and to attain an education, so don't tell me i am equal to the majority of pond life which pollute our society with their cretinous ideas, squalid little lives and worthless contributions.

If you were honest you would also admit to feeling superior to some people, albeit not as many as i do, because, frankly, if you don't feel superior to, say, a smack head prostitute who hides a baby behind a bin while she has sex in parking lot for a $10 bag of heroin id have to feel very sorry for you.

I don't think you have much of a choice. You don't think we would have you on our team, do you?

Unlike Nate i doubt there is much chance for you. Nate is just in denial because he is in to this "equality man" hippy shit at the moment, He probably got sold it along with the cancer curing joss sticks at some alternative health fair. But when it comes down to it i know which side he would chose; unlike you who will just have to accept the side you are given.

So don't worry yourself about the thought of having to live as part of an intellectually superior society, I don't think there is much chance of that happening.

What, you're not for equality? You don't think every human life is just as valuable as the next? Is your life a little more precious because of your education? Maybe you would be more valuable if the value of life was determined by how smart you are. But I think that says something about the kind of person you are, just a bit heartless. Lemme ask you something, why give to charity, what's in it for you? Do you really feel for the people you give to, you know, the "smack head prostitute"? The inferior people? Or do you do it simply because it makes you look good around others?

If you want to say you're intellectually superior, I'll let that pass. But don't give me this bullshit that you're some intelligent guy trying to benefit the world, giving to charity and helping others when you blatantly call people with mental disorders inferior people.

You don't care about people, you care only for yourself; it would be more convenient for you if society wasn't burdened with so many unfortunate people right?

The funniest thing is, you don't realize that the words you put to print right there make you inferior in almost every way that counts.

I suppose the Ronald McDonald charity foundation might qualify you on all three counts, yes.

Whew. For a second I thought you might say it was your ability to spell or use a spell checker:D.

Don't worry, you are not their equal and I would never try and imply that you are.

You shouldn't. I'm satisfied as long as I get my $10 worth, all without feeling superior mind you.

I see your sharp intellect didn't pick up on the subtlety that almost nobody would want to be on your team.

By the way, I did a little web search and found some video from your school where we can see you and your team in action.

Here is some video of you getting your ass handed to you for your bad attitude.

No i most certainly don't. Not that i was talking about life, but as you asked i answered.

As you made the point could you explain to me how the life of, let's say, a serial killer paedophile is equal to that of a paediatrician (they are children's doctors). Or are you, as i suspect you are, not for "equality" either and would just like to give the impression that you are because it's quite a fashionable word at the moment? or are you going to take the ludicrous position that "equality" is only for some and that, to coin a phrase, some are more equal than others?

[IMPORANT POINT]Id also like to correct you on something. You seem to hedging towards the claim that i think things that are inferior should be eradicated. that isn't what i am saying. Inferior things should exist, whether that is inferior objects or inferior people. I'm just making the observation that sometimes one thing is better (more beneficial, more worthwhile, more suitable) than another.[/IMPORTANT POINT]

yeah it's easy to say Nate, but i doubt you'd be keen on having a schizophrenic baby sitter or an innumerate accountant. so much for your "equality" when it comes to putting your words in to actions.

As for the charity work, i do it because some people need help and they can't cope on their own. and frankly if they weren't inferior (either socially, financially or developmentally) they wouldn't need my help. I certainly don't hold it against them, But it is a fact, they are less "able" (if you want to use a more politically correct term).

It's also very telling that i start talking about people who are poorly educated or ill-informed and you start talking about people with metal illnesses. Are the two interchangeable in your mind?

Was that before you realised i didn't misspell it? It's our language, use it properly or go and get your own.

No comment on the video? I thought you performed admirably prior to getting hit across the face with a crutch.

You can guess as much as you like but you are wrong as usual and on top of that you sound very stupid in trying to compare your copy & paste knowledge about cancer with a medical doctor with over 20 years of experience.

Neither my brother or I are religious but we accept death as a natural part of life. An understanding which come with education and age. Since you mention ill educated, do you care to tell us what kind of education do you have and how does your education compares to a professional doctor?

Have you seen anyone die of cancer? I lost both my parents to it, what is your personal experiance?

You are not an atheist, you just hate religion for you own personal reasons and that hate makes you blind to anything else. Don't post about things that you know nothing about, it just makes you look even more stupid than you already are.

In response to the most extreme case against my belief, yes I believe all human life is equally valuable. Many murderers, rapists, gangsters have changed in prison and came out better people.. but at what point do you consider them better? If they come out of prison and discover a cure for cancer will they have redeemed themselves and become "more valuable"? It's still the same serial killer paedophile. But they later could go on to potentially help the lives of billions of people. Or that same serial killer paedophile could have indirectly saved millions of lives by challenging the lives of their victim's families, and they then work hard to come up with some solution to the problem.

"Bad" people are bad almost always because of the way they were brought into this world. That serial killer paedophile could have (and usually has) been beaten and/or sexually abused as a child. If you look at tragedies committed by "terrible" people in context you wouldn't think in such a dualistic way. I would figure a supposedly well-educated man like yourself would be able to have some understanding of this concept.

I never said we were all equal when it comes to skill or talent, that's where progressives and myself differ. We're equal in life and life alone.

What's the difference between a socially/financially/developmentally inferior person and an inferior person?

First you pretty much say mentally ill people are inferior, as people, now you're saying "ahhh i just mean types of inferiority, like financially, etc."

    Bullshit.

(Nice spelling error btw genius, wiktionary won't help you this time :p.)
