By doing a "companion" site, won't that be considered duplicate content? How will the visitors find the companion site to go to the real site? Forgive me if I'm dense but as I told you before, I'm not a programer or wiz at this stuff. :)

Latent Semantic Indexing and Inverse Document Frequency

A basic example is Google's understanding that a "zoo" is connected to things like Aquarium, Wild Animal Park and Wildlife. Or that "Apple" is connected to QuickTime, Computers, Mac, Windows, etc.

Notice the words that get highlighted within the snippets in the results:

    http://www.google.com/search?q=~zoo

    http://www.google.com/search?q=~apple

with the companion site, since the main site is hosed as far as rankings are concerned by what I percieve to be a penalty. The new site should be able to take over the rankings and get back up where the old site was. Then people find the companion site, and from there, will move to the real site. Even if they dont, the content will still be there, just not all prettied up.

I asked my question to soon.

    So I tried:

    ~affordable keyword keyword

What came up in results was

Cheap keyword keyword. (this also came up when I tried ~cheap keyword keyword)

So if I'm reading this correctly; then you anchor text with affordable keyword keyword and replace affordable with cheap in the text?

    Man.

{shrug} As far as SEO goes, who knows... only Google. Google is just trying to algorithmically "understand" pages, rather than focus on keywords.

Time to break out the thesaurus. I'm not done reading the sew article yet; but it seems like the theming that's always being talked about isn't going to be as strict as it might have been...

    Man....

I got an idea! Lets all point all of our weight at the same keyword on some random page on the itnernet. If it gets de-indexed, we know how to kill all the spam sites, all the spyware/adware/shitware sites, and everything illegal, we are the magic bullet, we are. :D
