    He replied :p

    Hi

I feel really upset at all this. I voluntary run a non profit making forum for freelancers and struggle to pay the hosting fees. I put around 10 hours a day in for no payment and for the benefit of 830 freelancers.

I know that you had been notified by an ex member that was particularly obnoxious to our set up and felt he had another agenda - I think he is involved with another board. I had abusive mails from him and I terminated his membership. My guess is that this person sent you my details. Whilst you point out that I was not doing the right thing - I think it is pretty severe of you to ban me from the google index. I really had no idea that asking the members that by supporting google it would help us also was, so wrong. If you had told me in a mail I would have not done so.

This ex member has wrecked our community by doing what he did and I feel it is not justice. If you need to penalise me then you could just stop the payment of $[[figure removed for his site]] which I acrued. But please dont ban our community from the Google index. This would be most unfair. I ask you to take another look at the case and re-evaluate just how a person with a grievance can completely ruin what is a wonderful service to freelancers

    Thank you
    JohnT

    ------

He sounds really shook up about the whole thing :p

I'm thinking about sending him an email along the lines of:

    ----------
    Hello John

Your Google AdSense account has not been disabled, nor has your site been removed and/or banned from Google's index. This was done as a joke, after one of your newsletter participents posted the newsletter, when you asked people to click on the ads.

They thought that you needed to learn a lesson, and while this certainly wasn't the kindest way, it certainly got the point accross. You see, us advertisers are paying for the 'clicks', and when we have untargeted traffic due to behavior such as this, we do not make any sales, but we do have to pay for it. This ends up hurting everybody, as we don't make any profit, and you have the chance of getting kicked out of adsense.

I simply ask that you stop asking for clicks on the ads, if you need help improving the clickthrough rate through honest means, I will be happy to assist you.

    Thanks,

    Josh
    --------

What do you think? I think he probably learned his lesson :p

This is hilarious. We should really get a group of us together and become the AdSense police.

    .... Hours of fun!! :D

Nah, that would get him mad and looking for payback...

Besides, he would just put up the ads and start asking to click on them again.

You guys better cool it, Google can get you for sending out their communication without authorization and you could be in violation of laws on copyright and mis-representation.

Do not do this for your own good any longer.

Great stuff Josh. He's learned his lesson now one would hope. (Glad I'm not his mom, having to wash his crapped and pissed pants :D )

That e-mail proposal sounds good to me. Heck, you could even include this thread's link.

He should realize he was the nasty one here, not us. You explained the AdWords situation very well indeed. Hats off! He should come here and apologize. And not just here, he should apologize to Google as well (before they find out and boot him out for good).

He should be glad we aren't Google, we might be saving his ass because he pulled the ads so the real newsletter people couldn't click them. He should thank Josh actually, it was a great lesson.

PS, I hope this ex-member doesn't get any abuse for this!

    Maybe one last mail saying...

We'll let you off if you email your full explanation (including copies of the evidence - his newsletter uncensored) and apology to ...(real e-mail address)@google.com.

Then it's up to them whether to ban him or not.

I have to agree with Anthony, even as I'm laughing my head off. That guy deserves the scare, but better to have Google take care of him.

Leave it to Anthony. We heard you, now why don't you move on instead of trying to hijack every thread.

Great stuff Josh. That provided a days entertainment.

Why am i an ass? We had a little fun (Oh my God, we actually did something funny/entertaining without your permission)

Josh is loved here because he doesn't care about consequences and is damn creative. We got your first warning and its on record.

If you want to talk about the Middle East or whatever you were on about, return to your General Chat and Underground rather than adsense.

    We don't need another father.

I think anthony is right. If Josh's acct was not suspended by G already, I bet it would happen if they found out about the joke (in particular, the spoofing part of it).

Regardless of the email spoofing, that cheater got what was coming to him. Actually, I think he got off too easy. His account should really be banned.

Anyway, im sure google will handle the situation. If enough people contact google.

Dont send this guy spoofs or harass him. Just ask him to not violate the TOS anymore. Tell him how he is violating the TOS.t And tell google about the problem and leave it at that.

Google won't refund us the fraudulent clicks (most of the time) so this guy deserves as much stick as humanely possible IMO.

Hey Tops - If paymentstooslow was around earlier he would have been posting the exact opposite.

devbistro - Joshs account was suspended long ago and he could care less

I think the few of us that started it, did it for a reason so no amount of "You should have done it this way" will take away from the simple fact:

This guy was ripping us off and we taught him a lesson
