    Hi everyone,

I go to search high anonmyous proxies on google and they give me a bunch of proxy lists.... I am clueless to the ins and outs of proxies... what do I do with these lists? Simply configure them to my browser or what?

Also I have heard of the tor network, but do not understand what it is entirely nor how it functions.

If anyone can tell me the best way to surf anonymously I'd really appreciate it,
also it'd be nice to understand how to use these proxy lists as I would like to use multiple ip's from diffirent countries. gracias for your help :)

If you want an easier way to access the tor network, try the vidalia project. It's more or less a one-click installer with a control panel. You'll still have to configure firefox's proxy options (easiest way is to download the FoxyProxy addon, then in the menu I think is a link that is simply 'configure for tor'. Tor is usually slower than normal traffic, and theres a bunch of other stuff about it, but it comes with increased privacy (almost to the point of full anonymity if you're smart). As far as I know (at a guess) the proxy lists and IPs could be used with foxyproxy as well, but I haven't used them.

Online proxies are usually just a page with a huge amount of ads, and a url bar. Use them if you don't need privacy for anything deadly important. They usually have a few limitations but are easier to get to instead of tor

    There's also i2p but I haven't personally used it

    Great post decepti0n!

very informative, sounds like TOR is the way to go for complete anonymous surfing. I am still very curious as to what the purpose of these proxy lists are...

    any ideas anyone?
