    Hi everyone,
Just a general question – Is it still worth paying the annual fee of $299 for a listing in Yahoo? Does it affect listings in any other search engines? The traffic coming from Yahoo is next to nothing even with a #8 listing under my main search term.

I have heard that it isn't worth it and I've stayed away from it.

My renewal is due in a few months and I am thinking about cancelling it. Just wanted to make sure it’s not hurting anything else. I agree with you sayyes it looks like it’s not worth it. Interesting to see if my site will be dropped completely out of Yahoo after I cancel.

Let us know how it effects PR, SERPs, or any other noticable difference!

You can be the guinea pig to determine if it really is worth $200/year ;)

Thanks for this. Can you recommend any high traffic directories where I can buy link spots?

I paid for yahoo listing 6 months back (for a directory). To tell you frank, I didn't see any difference in the traffic stats. So may be it depends on what type of site you run.

Made up my mind – will not extend my subscription and spend the spare money on advertising if I am still in business after this Google update finished.
Thanks everyone for the comments :)

I wouldnt buy it, low PR in categories and the url's are redirects. Just seems like a waste to me, especially since it only lasts a year.

If, as many are saying, Yahoo hasn't brought much increased traffic, Yahoo would be a total waste of $299 for me.

For just a bit more $$ than that, I got listed in various paid directories and received about 15-20 good links from their inner, category pages. Those inner pages had mostly PR4, and perhaps two or three PR5. Yahoo's PR on my category page is PR4. So why should I pay $299 for a PR4 Yahoo link, when I can get 15-20 good PR links for the money in a variety of paid directories? Is there some real benefit to a Yahoo listing that I am overlooking? (P.S., I am listed in Dmoz.)
