Okay, some people realy seem to not get the value of their websites. A $20 website being sold for $5,000 (edit: Not Yo-Yo's) as if stereotypes of online businesses being instant successes are true. Very annoying! Realize that most people on this website are VERY good at evaluating websites and if they feel your website isn't worth the price, than it isn't. Just thought I'd make note of that.
lol, no not yours. I trust you because I've seen a lot of what you do (lol, though if I bought a site from you I'd still ask for stats). It was from a previously banned member.
"most people on this website are VERY good at evaluating websites" - If this is the case then why do you feel it neccessary to pipe in at all? I think there are too people that always have negative public comments on everyone elses sales, not saying you are one of those but I would say, that is more annoying than people thinking their websites are worth thousands, when they might not be. One thing that folks need to remember is that when you have what you might think is a "great idea" you value it highly, if no one else thinks so then it does not mean you are "annoying" it simply means, a) You are not getting to the right type of buyers, b) You need to further develop your idea, c) You need to express your idea clearer as to show its potetial value, d) You need to rethink the value of your website to potential buyers. I think people in general get annoyed at others too easily, show some compassion and offer some constructive advice via PM instead of trying to shoot-down and embarass people in public forums. just my two "sense". The wonderment of this system over Ebay is it's public two way feedback... while it should be done with decorum, the fact is, it should be done... publically. Seeing the questions written, albeit sometimes repeatedly, teaches newer users the types of questions they should think about before bidding or buying a website. It also brings out in the open, deficiencies in the description of the site being sold. What shouldn't happen is lombasting somebody over the price they're asking. If you think the price is too much, simply don't bid. The value of anything is in the eyes of the beholder. There is no true system of valuing a website. At least none that I've seen. perdrix
Yeah, that's true. What I meant by most users are the more active long-term users, I should have specified that. But yeah, you guys are right. But I do mean someone that gets a free hosting account and puts up a template with absolutely no activity on it than claims it makes a bunch of money and tries to sell it. lol
