I've recently applied adsense and I am very pleased with the ads that are appearing on the various pages, but I have one page: http://www.mcqueenonline.com/freedownloads.htm which I find very frustrating to look at, and it must seem bad to surfers. The page has free downloads of various TV ads relating to the actor Steve McQueen - Car Ads and Vintage Cigarette Ads. It will soon have some non ad related downloads as well. Problem is that adsense is putting up links for people looking to utilise advertising companies. I definately don't want that, and it is way off topic for the page. Any suggestions on what I can do to out these ads? I know my use of the term advertising is the main cause, but it is pretty difficult to remove it as it is a key factor in describing the video content... Thanks, Darren.
Hi Darren, You can use Google's 'section targeting' feature to select which sections of your content to use for serving ads, and which sections to ignore. Before you do that, though, you'll probably need to ad more content. Think creatively, and I'm sure you'll find a good solution. You can learn more about section targeting in the AdSense Help Center. One other thing you may want to consider is changing the color scheme of your AdSense ads to match your page - this has proven to be a powerful way to increase CTR. HTH, Sam
