Hey I am hoping someone can help, does anyone know how to turn off the function of google giving me the results from my webmaster tools account first for searches.. for example I search for "toys" and because i have a website with the keyword "toys" in my webmaster tools and im logged in, it will bring up this site first.. even though its not actually ranked on the first page.. Is there something I can turn off? Its annoying trying to find my placements in google when its putting them on the first page when thats not really the correct spot. Thanks
Alex is right, you need to log out first. I noticed that too whenever I try searching with my account logged on. Either you log out your account or search on a different browser.
I like to use Chrome incognito feature, press ctrl+shift+N and voila! search all you want without having to delog your accounts. I hope that helps.
First, delete the history and logout form google account, then your site will be shown on the right position.
I usually log out, switch browsers, use VPN, etc. It is always exciting when you forget and your site pops up ranking #1 though.
When you are logged in in any Google accounts you get customized search results from Google based on your previous search history, Google + likes etc,... Simple process to overcome this: simply logging out/using other browse you are not logged in. Long process: You can delete your search history by going to history.google.com/history/ and remove all your previous search history then go to settings and pause your search history so that google won't store your search history in future.
As google keep your record while you are logged in, you should first log out to your webmaster tools. So that it will turn off automatically as you log out. And the google is just a little bit complicated but not annoying.
