I've watched interviews of her. She seems to be a genuinely nice person. I like her. This thread isn't really about Mitt. What do you think about Ann? :)

I hadn't seen much of her, and Romney bores me to tears, so when I saw her response to Hilary Rosen's dig at stay at home moms, I was seriously impressed. She wasn't bitter, hateful, or even over milking it's political value. She was just strong and direct. I watched one of her sons talking to Piers Morgan on the same issue, and I was hooked. Romney's family says more about his character than he could ever tell you himself.

One thing came across fast... she was an extremely poor choice of targets for the administration to villify.

And yes, someone that's a partner of Anita Dunn, works as a DNC advisor, and has been to the White House many times more often than General Petraus gets credited to the Administration... despite the weak
"some woman on TV" reference Obama used in to refer to Ms Rosen, acting like he was unaware of her existence when the attack miserably exploded in their face.

Also noteworthy was the response of the White House spokesman, Jay Carney.
ROFL. Gee, maybe watch the tape of the interview, she's been advising you guys for a long time, you might recognize her.

RE: "Some Woman on TV" - Let's refresh the memory

You guys DO remember her partner, Anita Dunn, who served as Communications Director for the Obama White House, right
    ?

They tried a trial balloon, hoped it would be viewed as a detached source, but it rightfully came home to roost. Obama pretended to be unable to remember the "some woman" he'd personally met with 5 times in the oval office and who had been to the White House 35 times total. She is {or until this *was*} a DNC Public Relations rep for heaven's sake. [Not a very smart one apparently, but a PR rep nonetheless.]

    Note to the Obama crew:
Own it guys... for better or worse, she works for you, and the trial balloon sank like a toy boat in a monsoon. Gee, whoda thunkit? Americans uniformly condemned the idea that a woman who raised 5 kids while battling cancer and MS has "never worked a day in her life". It showed true contempt for working moms, and the subsequent bullshit responses trying to distance yourself showed contempt for the intellect of everyone in the nation that heard 'em. What assholes.

She seems nice. On top of that she has battled MS. I know that is a big issue. More power to her, she seems to be one of the luckier people with MS as she does not seem to be visibly afflicted that we can see. Also it appears that its a great family....long relationship plus 5 seemingly level headed kids. More power to both of them as parents and maintaining a healthy family.

@Rob Its unbelievable that in 2 threads somehow you have decided to bring references to General Petraus into discussions about women. General Petraus has been a terrific general. Until Septeber last year he was stationed overseas. One would assume there was no reason in the world to have him visit the Obama Whitehouse endless times as his main responsibilities were in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Certainly in either case his major responsibilities were not focused on women's health issues, women in the workplace or at home, or men in the workplace or as stay at home dads.

OTH: I'm sure bringing his name into the two discussions will rile up a lot of extremist right wingers as they will view it as a highly potent and relevant issue concerning their agendas.

Meanwhile as with every administration, since General Petraus has taken over the CIA I'm sure he like other senior people involved with National Security is in constant touch if not daily or more than daily with the White House. In fact it would be surprising if there was a daily published record as to the number of times senior officials concerned with national security are in touch with the White House. We don't want to publish that data and frankly you and I don't need to know.

Rather than shifting focus, let me know if you *really* believe Obama is unfamiliar with a high level DNC advisor that is partner to his former White House Communication Director and who shows on the visitor roster 36 times including five visits to the oval office? Seriously now.

If you think the president knows exactly who she is, why do you think he characterized her as "some woman on TV"?
