Anime Hosting

    Are people allowed to host Anime Episodes on there own Server for the whole Audience of the Internet to watch?

    Usually I see people use Video websites such as YouTube for example, however I have also seen some people host Anime on there own Server.

    Is it legal to do? Is there anywhere, where I can read about this or something?

    Just generally interested. :)

    If you don't own it, you need permission for anything you host on your site. Failure to get permission is copyright infringement.

    Is there a Legal way to be able to? Like can people buy a Licence or something?

    P.S I don't host any Anime or have any Anime Websites. I am just curious.

    You would have to contact the copyright holders and ask their permission - they might not want anything or they might want a fee. Each copyright holder is different.

    There are a lot of people who ignore copyright law - most likely because they feel they are safe because they have limited assets to lose.
