Animal Sacrifice in Nepal - Sick!

Just read this as I woke up this morning,

There is to be a large animal sacrifice of roughly 200,000 (some sources say 500,000) animals which includes buffaloes, goats, chickens and pigeons taking place right now in Nepal.

Ah, I thought killing was evil?

I am absolutely appalled and angered by this. A lot of respect has just been trampled on and thrown out of the door.

I as a pagan, honor wildlife, animals, and nature. I thought our consciousness and ethics would have evolved by now.

I do. But you don't see me trying to start some huge gang in the honor of wiping out mass animals to protect myself from evil in the world.

Its true that they will be protected though. Heck, I wouldn't step into those crazy villages in case they come up with some theory that eating me will rid them something........

Its nieve to expect that through evolution people will have more goodness in them. The more intelligent people can the worse people are. Some people have changed for the better. A few days ago I saw a guy with a piercing through his lip pass the garbage can to throw a bottle in the recycling bin. In the 50's that kind of teenager was burning tires for fun.

Killing each OTHER is evil, and although it's not done as a sacrifice to any gods it's done daily to feed the majority of humans.

Face it, there is a natural circle of life; for every prey there is a predator, that's why there is a food chain. We just happen to be at one end of it.

I'm not saying these are bad people. Maybe I came across the wrong way. But by now I'm sure one (or a group) would "think" about what they are doing before their actions are executed.

Obviously it is not bringing prosperity (as the article states) as they hoped it would. Heck, when I do something that is not bringing desired results I realize it's not the correct action and a new action is taken.

But then again I am not everybody. Actually, we are all everything if you want to start another conversation. =)

Killing the animals for stupid belief is the great insult and they are not eligible to say them as human being. Among all animals only human has a sixth sense.. but he is doing worse than the five sense animals. Even animals would kill other animals only for food. But this must be greatly opposed.. what blue cross doing over there....

Sad, because tress give off plenty of food. One seed can produce an infinite amount of food.

Plenty of animals kill each other for reasons other than food. They kill for strengh, to show off the the lady animals, and not to mention species like hedgehogs kill their young for "who knows why"

Same thing as every company like that does. Ask for more millions of dollars of donations then buying each of the CEO's Ford Expeditions.

Just for clarification they eat the meat, use the fur, etc, etc. In America we have Thanksgiving where we kill many more animals and eat them. So unless you are a strict vegetarian, I don't know why this event bothers you, and if you are I still think there are bigger fish to fry.

It's jacked that this happens in the USA too. So what about the Pigeons? Can you or anyone else elaborate on that?

If it's prosperity that they want I will gladly send them some fruit and vegetable seeds. I'm sure others would follow suit too. In the next 5 years those trees should produce a wealth of fruit and veggies that can be exported for profit and I will gladly be a buyer

Here is some food for thought as avocados as the subject and only because I'm eating one right now. :)

Think for a second about how many avocados one seed can produce.

    • One tree = many avocados
    • Many avocados = many more seeds + the first tree
    • Many more seeds = many more trees with many more avocados + the many more...
    • And on and on

The result is exponential. How much money would that bring them? Anyone know?

Hmm. A simple solution to assist in the growth of the global economy and to help alleviate the animal situation. I personally don't think there is no longer a need for killing. Heck, look at the Catholic Church there are changing their ways to survive. I guess you can call this killing two birds with one stone. :D

You know the Jallianwala bagh massacre...???

I hate people who care too much for animals where there are fellow human beings treated and living a pathetic life.

Lol, there's more variables than just "planting seeds" ;)

And anyways, 'killing two birds with one stone', why do you want to kill 2 birds?!

True! and most of us do eat meat...I think it's just the "image" of mass-killing is violent which most people see as "different" than killing animal for food.
