First off I use Angela's back links and still on the fence to see if it is effective or not. She claims You can also do a search for the keyword ANGELA. You will find my site in the NUMBER TWO SPOT out of more than 80.7 million competing sites. I also only used these "inner page" back links for that webpage as well. That's right; these same type of links put me in the NUMBER TWO SPOT out of almost 100 million competing sites!! Well first who cares if there are 80 million competing sites. NO ONE optimizes for the word Angela, so it would be very easy to rank for that keyword in no time. Penis enlargement only gets 2.9 million but that is a way more competitive terms. Try getting ranked for that term I use Angela's back links as one of the many option for my overall online marketing but should never so solely use as the only means to rank higher. For the this I work with they are the most competitive market to rank for and yes her system may work for a mom and pop site or a doctor’s office in Washington state but no way will doing her backlinks work for a highly competitive site or markets. That being said I still think it has so minor uses to adding to your SERP score.
I have heard of several people using these links and they actually have hurt their SEO rankings. I think it is because the links are totally unrelated to the keyphrases, and there is no content and they are generally looked at as spam in the seo community. Maybe use them as an extremely small portion of your SEO campaign, but I wouldn't even recommend doing profile links at all.
I certainly haven't noticed them helping or harming my rankings. However, they are effective at building page rank. That won't necessarily help bring traffic to your page, but is useful if you are trying to sell your site down the road. Hint: look beyond just the profile links these sites provide. Many of these sites allow you to create a blog as well where you can put in all the contextual linking you want. Depending on the subject on your blog posts you can get plenty of direct traffic from them as well.
I had a chat with a co-worker about this very topic earlier today. I've used her backlinks for a month now and haven't seen any noticeable benefits. None of the links I built are showing up in either Google or Yahoo. In comparison, I submitted a bunch of articles to ArticlesBase 2 weeks later and they are showing up in a backlinks query (not all, but some of them). I'm going to try doing the Feb links which were just sent out this morning, if I don't see any positive shifts for the specific keywords I'm testing her links with, then I'm going to cancel.
I havnt seen any results (at least any positive) from this form of linking. It is sorta spamming just have a single link in all these profiles and Google may find this to be the case in the future if it hasn't already. I gave this a go having quite a few sites getting an amount of profile links. To this day only 2 of the links has shown up in yahoo, and none in Google.
I am wondering why you think these are good for crafting pagerank? All of the profile pages where the links are actually placed are all fresh and PR0. How does this give you any added PR benefit? Also, I agree with dimmakherbs about them being spammy. They are just links on a page with no content or related material.
I have used angela's backlink packet, its true it affects ranking very instant. But soon it will also make your rankings down.
All I can say as a forum owner is that it pisses me off when I get a ton of new registrations from people who are looking to fill the "my homepage" field or cram a URL into their signature, and never return. Beyond that, the method never worked for me, and its days are numbered because search engines are not stupid.
I agree w/ ya markn26...my opinion is that Angela's links are nothing but crap. Yeah - everyone heard me. The only way I can see it working is someone taking Angela's old links - and just a couple - register on these high pr sites - leave their backlink (or what it really is - is a profile link) and start getting involved with those sites and actually putting forth some effort. That way the site's administrators wouldn't yank your link since your actually involved w/ their site.
I have not used her backlinks but heard alot bout it across different forums. It is also possible that google crawlers are devaluating the links considering its a worst kept secret..
