If you just want to know which apps are ot, trending, rising, etc then the respective app home websites should suffice. e.g, apple itunes app page & google play. I use this info to gather a LOT of data on app dynamics and imo, you don't really need anything else. ~ Mateen
Also you can search Google with key words 'top iOS apps' or look for special forums as for example http://forums.androidcentral.com/ etc. Good luck!
