According to Spamhaus, and many other spam filters, Unsolicited Commercial Email or UCE is the equivalent of malicious spam as is an unethical means of promotions. We disagree with this completely. Although unethical and malicious spam exists, they all violate the CAN- SPAM Act, which makes the content of the message and delivery method illegal, but not the fact that it is “Unsolicited” .

We want to be clear on our beliefs on spam. We believe that ALL forms of marketing need to be controlled by that country’s government and laws. Without regulations and laws, we would be victims and the internet would be like Beirut in the 80 s. That being said, we feel that European companies such as Spamhaus, have ill-defined meanings of spam and are not in accordance to US laws and regulations, but derived from a philosophy driven by profits.

Being Americans and Capitalists, we live in different economic conditions than Europe does. We, in America, believe that regulations and restrictions on business promotions is a job for our legislation and we commanded that regulations be put in place. This was call these regulations The Federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, a bill strongly supported by John McCain. This bill DID NOT MAKE BULK EMAIL ILLEGAL, it simply place regulations in order to locate and prosecute businesses that send bulk email unethically. This is a proper way for a Capitalistic country to prevent consumer issues while supporting the American value.

Back to Spamhaus; although the US Government has placed regulations that they deem fit on email marketing, this European spam filter attempts to have Global Control and, literally, trump our government. We will not tolerate foreign influence on American economy and will fight to allow any ethical business the resources and means to promote their products or services in any legal capacity available. All forms of marketing in the US is controlled by the US, not a European organization that profits from their own twisted definitions.
