    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

And this is how NOT to make money from adsense

Hey, am I dreaming? We CAN have only 3 google ads and one adlink per page!

How come he has 4 ads in one page, all filled up, with NO content?

When I try that on my site, I get only three that fill up and the "fourth" just collapses and is not seen at all!

Then I looked at the source of the page. The first horizontal ad is actualy a pulled irame from another page!

Clever and foolish at the same time. Can there be a better example of paradox? Or an oxymoron (Cleverfool)?

The reason that the fourth doesn't fill up is because the keywords on your page don't have enough advertisers from Adwords to support all 4 ad units.

And this guy and his no content page is just asking to get banned from the program. All it takes is one annoyed Adsense publisher or advertiser to report him.

*oops, I just read the previous page of this thread and see it's already happening.

The point was made in my post. If it was too much for you to comprehend, that's not my problem.

Oh, that page is now back online. I can see that he is no longer asking people to click on the ads but:

    1) I cant see enough content
    2) 3 adblocks is a limit i believe.

The cache of that site is a bit funky too.

If they don't change the presenation (content, ad units, etc) of that site it'll be Adsense free soon enough.

Geez, talking about making money without working. I think Google staff should review all the sites and take out the useless ones. We all here are using AdSense to our good cause, we work hard for it. It's just not fair when people intentionally take advantage like this.

Main problem with adsense is that it encourages the creation of spammy sites. Since almost any site is accepted, and if you have 1 site accepted, all your others are automatically in, if you make a thousand crappy sites and earn $1/month on them, you have a pretty decent income.

Now I love adsense because it takes the pressure off of converting traffic, quite a bit, but there are downsides as well. The dramatic rise of totally junk sites is a direct side effect.

IMHO, the onus is with Google, Inc to take out the spammy sites. Afterall, these sites thrive on the money paid by Google.

Or, there could be reasons why Google has yet to ban these sites. Maybe Google finds out that the clicks coming from the "spammy" sites generate actual purchases/spendings by the visitors.

They are not stealing from the advertisers...they still get "real" customers clicking thru to their sites....:)

'Spammy' and junk sites do convert, they also maximize an advertisers reach.

I'm sick of hearing these silly advertisers with their bunk assumptions that these spammy sites somehow 'steal' money from advertisers. They are QUICK becoming the main blame for what is by its nature a lower-converting network.

The content network has and ALWAYS will be A BIT crap due to the information nature of it. Just because spam/junk sites are popping up all over the place DOESN'T mean they're to blame for this. That's just how it is.

Please stop these silly assumptions and propagating the myth that spam sites are hurting AdSense/AdWords. They aren't, they're HELPING it and advertisers you muppets.

Come to think of it, these sites are filled with keywords spamming, etc, hence they are usually ranked higher on SERPs.

When the uninitiated visitor use search engines and find this site filled with ads, they will click on the ads directly. They don't need to read the rest of the page. They go straight to the advertiser's sites. Bear in mind that these visitors were searching for something and they found it on the advertiser's site. Ta-da, conversions occurs. From one small click to big purchases.

Maybe this is why the spammy sites are still around.
