You really shouldn't group atheism with religion. Atheism is simply the lack of belief in a deity. Until a person is convinced to believe in a deity, or hypothesizes the existence of a deity, the natural state of their mind is one in which they lack the belief in any deity, and therefore atheism is the natural state of the human mind. No action is required on the part of a thinker to become an atheist--only to become religious. To suggest that one is "brain washed" for not changing their mind from its original state to match that of someone advocating the adoption of a religion seems a tad illogical. One of the necessary elements of brainwashing is the changing of a person's mind; atheism requires no changing of one's mind.

I would argue that a person who is alive on life support or medication is healthier than a person with worms eating through their flesh six feet underground. Evidence that lifespans have increased would seem to suggest that today's population is healthier than populations in past eras. Lifespans are a good measure of health.

I agree with your decision to question the term, "criminal ignorance." This is the broadest definition of "crime" in Merriam-Webster's:

If a genetic change yields negative results, it is eventually cleaned out of the gene pool. Evolution is closer to the exact opposite of chance. Perhaps you should read more before you write more.
