When I start doing my link development, should I change the anchor text around? Does google care if several sites have the same anchor text for my site's link? Thanks.
I think that is the point of linking - that you have a lot of the same anchor texts. I thought that the more of the same ones that are pointing to your site - then the more likely google is to notice you. That's why you need to choose the keywords you are targeting carefully At least that's what I think. AM still fairly new to this stuff...
I was kind of worried that it would be "duplicate" text (much like duplicate content ) so keeping the same anchor is better? As for keyword, if I'm looking to rank high in a specific keyword, I should add it to my anchor of course!
Change the anchor text with three or four of your best keywords. This will make your keywords stronger and wont get out-ranked faster by your competitors
That's what I was thinking about Or is it best to just add 3 keywords in one anchor? Or is there keyword stuffing for anchor links?
It depends on your site and keywords . I wouldn't really do keyword stuffing, it can look spammy to the users too.
Do not stuff too many keywords and also do not change the anchor test for the keyword very often! suppose if you are having a directory that is PR4 you could choose this (PR4 Web directory) as title other than directory!
You should use different anchor text to your different pages depending on the keywords you are targetting. Use variation of anchor text to the same pages also.
My idea (very own ofcourse) --about anchor texts is very different from conventional beliefs --in the sense that I don't believe in anchor texts. My theory is --the title of the website is the brand name--it should be used everywhere --with every link. If you want --to rank high create good contents on your site and regularly update them with proportionate keywords in those contents --so that google bots fall in love with your site and never leave it. If you have some links and have great contents --there is nobody stopping you. Just optimise your site with the official title of the site --. People have been using lots of anchor texts in their links to manipulate the SEs ---that is why Google has its SANDBOX and BLOOP If only those SEOs never did that --life would been much easier and simpler.
If you use the same keyword in all your anchor texts then it is an overoptimization and Google will notice it. As a result your website will not show in the first 1000 positions. Try to use different keywords in your incoming links. I also suggest putting 2-3 keywords in your title.
