Anchor with Name and ID attribute good or bad for SEO

    Hi Rakhi,

    The ID attribute is usually used purely for styling, and each unique ID must only be used once per page. There isn't really a name attribute, however, there is a title. <a> title's will benefit you, slightly, in SEO; usually when linking between pages.

    Linking to anchors on the same page won't really gain you anything. The links between pages are meant to clarify what a certain page is about, so if you have links on the same page linking to itself, it'll probably be more detrimental. Ideally, you would need to have pages specific to on subject, and link to that page using the title attribute and href attribute of an <a> tag, with the link itself being the keyword you are targeting for that page.
