Anchor text

Hi I always vary my anchor text (I have 10 different ones) I was told that I could use 10 along with 10 different descriptions in around 2,000 directories without any red flags.

However I have one particular single keyword that I was to move up a few places in the serps for, my question is how many times can you use the same anchor text without being flagged?

    Thanks

    Dee

I have never been flagged for using a keyword. I use akeyword until I get on the fist page.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I am on the first page but would like to move up 2 positions, so do you use akeyword with different descriptions, to avoid the duplicate contents problem?

It is unlikely that the search engines will penalize you for repeating the same anchor text again and again. Otherwise, your competitors could hire someone to submit your site to thousands of directories using that same keyword(s) and thus get you penalized.

The algorithm creators are smarter than that.

I like to use the keyword with another popular word when I mix it up. You'll still get a bump even if the keyword is only 1 of 3 words in the anchor text.
