Targeting Keyword Phrase: "San Diego Dui Attorney" Anchor Text Option # 1 "San Diego Dui Attorney" Anchor Text Option # 2 "San Diego Dui Attorney, Website Name" Anchor Text Option # 3 "San Diego Dui Attorney, Attorney Name" I see many people are leaving incorrect anchor text all over the place, like directory submissions, or article submissions. They use Option 2 or 3. I think it they options don't give any weight. They are not targeting actual keyword "San Diego Dui Attorney". In my opinion "San Diego Dui Attorney, Website Name" is diluted. I usually use Anchor Text Option # 1 Any thoughts?
I understand that variety is better. But my concern is that when the anchor text has something like "Web design, San Diego Web designers - Company" it's not good practice! Maybe for traffice wise yes, but not for Search Engines Rankings (in my opinion the best option would be) 1. Web Design (If you target keyword "Web Design") 2. San Diego Web Designers (If you target keyword "San Diego Web Designers")
My thoughts on this... Ranking for: San Diego Dui Attorney I think number 1 is the best. Although I believe also in having variety to target other terms and not be noticed by the search engines for doing unnatural means of link building, the variety I would target will be other highly searched terms and not including the company or attorney name, like Dui Attorney in San Diego San Diego Dui Lawyer Dui Lawyer in San Diego And the company name will dilute the term a bit. Just my opinion based on my experience.
Anchor text will not dilute the importance of your keyword. This is not in your meta keyword tag, and you shall put all you top important keywords in the anchor text. But you shall put these keywords in the anchor text to make sense. For me, #2 and #3, means you are just puting 2 different and unrelated keywords togeter, and will confuse visitors.
