Anchor Text

Hi, I know answers on this may vary, but here goes ;)

After months of hard work, I have achieved the desired ranking for all of my main keywords, however there is one lesser important keyword I would like to target, so I plan to use this as my anchor text in my next round of submissions. My question is how many times should you use the same anchor text before changing it to a new one?

So if I submit to 100 directories a day (just as an example) how many times out of those 100 can I use a particle word as my anchor?

    Thanks

    Dee

Hmm i am not experienced to much in it but i will say we must change after 50- 80 counts atleast . Because we can guarantee all of them will get indexed and help us serp .

Changing the anchor text 1 word combo for every 100 directory or comment submissions is pretty good.

Hi, just so I understand what your saying :)

If the keyword I wanted to increase in the Serps was blue shoes (purely for example). I could submit to around 50 directories in a row(considering they all approve at different rates) with the Title blue shoes?
I just want to understand it fully as I don't want to get penalised, yet there is only one of my keywords I really need to increase in the Serps.

Also if I am understanding correct, how many different secription would you use (for the 50)?

    Thanks
    Dee

If you're submitting to reputable directories which have a trust factor - none; they wouldn't accept your listing as submitted.

If you're submitting to any old link farm whose primary intent is to try and assist with search engine manipulation - as many as you want.

You might want to consider the inbound link profile you're creating by doing such a thing, but It's your site.

Best of luck with your endeavors.

Hi, sorry, I don't understand this part

" none; they wouldn't accept your listing as submitted."??

Do you mean they wouldn't except my listing as submitted if I use the same description or something else?

All the directories I submit to I believe to be trust worthy, I submit to the ones here on DP or the lists supplied here.

    Thanks Again

    Dee

Any decent web directory wouldn't accept your "keywords" as a title. And to be honest, user submitted descriptions are generally some of the poorest descriptions I've seen. A directory wouldn't accept it. A decent directory would rewrite the description for obvious reasons.

Then you're basically submitting to a bunch of crappy link farms which will accept just about anything as submitted.

The lists posted here at DP are truly some of the crappiest lists of link farms around - that goes for the junk being peddled by the link pimps in the Solicitations/Announcements forum as well.

Well I personally always write decent descriptions and I have submitted to many other directories outside of the ones on DP. But if the ones on here are as you described them, then why do so many submit to them?

Surely if they are link farms then submitting to them is a bad idea?

Does anyone have a list of good directories?

Why do so many more avoid them? ;)

Those are the ones that you won't hear about as they have no real need to spam their links or boost their post count.

What I have done with good success is to mix up the target keywords with a few other words. So add words like "best", "fun", "favorite", (or what ever words apply to your niche) to the target keywords as the anchor text. Just mix up 20 different variations and use those in your submissions and you'll see results for the target keywords.

This depends how important you want to promote the keyword. More important, put it in more anchor text, otherwise, put less.
