Most of my traffic comes from forum posts but i wanted to know what if forums don't allow links in your signature i.e. they donnot redirect when you click them to your site. I still put a link to my site in my signature should i put anchor text, would that be bad or good, the forum post only would display the html or forum code.

Im not sure if i made myself clear ask for more info if i am rambling on.

Its not going to hurt by putting in anchor text but if the sites you post on use strange redirection techniques you may not get any link juice at all.

if it stays inactive like the url in my location top right, you would not be able to put in anchor text and it does not convert

So lets take a look at you links in your signature if i were to put them in some other forums they would be viewed as www.example.com not Articles here, does that help?

I understand but some forums only view it as a code and not a functional link saying "Article here" My question was should i still add the code to my signature ?

Does the fourm make the url a link? If so SE's look at the content sourounding the link. dont think that putting the anchor text in would hurt or help.

if it does not convert to the code into a link it will just look like the original code. such as:

Article here
HTML:
instead of

Article here

Hope this is making sense

maybe the forum restricted you to do so.
just like DP, we need some good posts before
we can have live link signature.

yes articledirectory is right
[ url ="http:// www.example.com"] Article here [ /url] a code like this even if it do not give an active link, the search engines will consider it as an active link
I hope i got it right

If the forum doesn't permit active links in your sig, then just post the actual text of the URL. It wont help your rankings but there may be slight chance that some people will copy and paste the URL in their browser - but that isn't gonna happen often.

Unfortunately the forum owner has rendered the sig nearly useless. I would message them and ask to allow live links in the sig, or find another forum that is willing to provide this to their users.

If signature links is not allowed just put the links in your profile and don't try to put sig because they might banned you for breaking the forum rules. But links in your profile can only be a source of traffic.

yes, meaning to say it won't help you on a better SERP on your target KW since you didn't use anchor rather just a link.
