Anchor text linking strategy help.

    Hi,

    I am putting together a review site of products with a group of articles that will contain longtails in each of the titles. As part of my backlinking strategy I will be posting on blogs. I want to ask about which sitepage each blog will point to.

    If I use anchor text links in each blog and have each point back to my homepage only, will these links have a positive increasing effect on my article page keywords as well OR do I need lots of anchor text links in lots of blogs pointing back to individual keyword optimised article pages for them to get good rankings individually?

    Hope this makes some sense?

    Each page will be best optimized for the keywords in the anchor text that points to each individual page.

    The way I can best describe it is like this: You have two keywords, Keyword A and Keyword B. If you build links with anchor text "Keyword A" pointed at page 1, and links for "Keyword B" pointed at page 2, then page 1 is optimized for keyword A, not both A and B.

    If you build links for A and B and point them at page 1, page 1 will be optimized for A and B, page 2 will not be optimized.

    I think I may have confused even myself with that post, but until DP gives me a virtual whiteboard, that's the best I can do. Hope I helped.

    It's been my experience that you're better off optimizing all your keywords for one landing page.

    Thanks for your advice.

    My home page is the main product review page/landing page I want the user to arrive at.

    So just to take your example......I have the home page as weightlossreports.com/home, an article page containing the keyword 'best weight loss products' and a second titled article with the keyword 'worst weight loss products'. I want both these keywords to do well in google rankings individually.

    If I submit a blog piece and my anchor text keyword is 'best weight loss product' am I able to point it to my home page or does it have to be the 'best weight loss product' article page (matching identical keywords?). And the same with 'worst weight loss product' anchor text link.

    If I point every blog piece to my home page will it increase the page rank for every other page on my site (which is what I want) or does it have no impact on these and only be an active backlink that effects the home page?
