    Hi everyone!

I was just wondering how accurate anchor text has to be for specific keywords???

For example: I currently rank no 4 in google for the phrase - Expert Guides

But if you run a search for the term - Expert Guide - I dont show up at all. Surely, if that term is already in my anchor text it would show on that search somewhere as well??? but im not located in the top 200 results at all.

Any ideas why this would be???

Remember that search engine has different criteria on ranking the site. Anchor text is not the only bases for their ranking. Your site needs proper optimization with quality content, more quality links not just quantity and etc. Consider all search engine techniques on optimizing your site. It doesn't mean that if your using your targeted keyword as anchor text, it will rank on search engine.

anchor text is given weighting in relation to its relevance. An exact match i.e. expert guide will always be ranked before a less exact match such as "expert guides" .
