I'll rephrase webado's answer on the Statcounter forums (granted it was 4 years ago so things may have changed). Google Analytics should report lower unique visits because it only trackers users with JavaScript enabled. GA will also only count hits to pages where the script is installed. Statcounter tracks visitors mainly through cookies, regardless of whether JavaScript is enabled. Statcounter will track Return Visitors through cookies as well, regardless of IP and JavaScript. If cookies are disabled, Statcounter will count each visit as a new visitor. Don't rely too heavily on either. Personally, I take the middle route and average them. http://forum.statcounter.com/vb/showthread.php?t=25556
I have to accept that both are good tools , but when it comes to accuracy , i would vote for google analytics and also in site monitoring , google analytics has more features than statcounter.
Hi GUys, thought this will interest you - I've composed in the past an article about this very specific question (top 5 free analytic tools including stat counter and GA), feel free to visit my article
No State Counter has more features and accurate data than G Analytic! It Also Shows you the IP Address of the Visitors!!!
I have used both. GA did not show many visitor data but SC show and there is 1 more counter that I fill is best histats this is better than GA and SC.
I prefer to use SC it shows u stats of as soon a visitors visit the site and show u the complete details that how a visitor came to ur site and what he looked on ur site. Visitors location and ip as well. GA shows you stats of last 24 hours not of current day or hour.
