I'm reviewing Sawmill and Weblog Expert for a potential client web site. They have a custom built content management system for their site, and I want to determine if these programs will work out for their project. They're currently using Webalizer which doesn't have all the needed info (keyword phrases by search engine) Does anyone have experience with those two programs that might be willing to comment? At this point, they are not signed on to an agreement, so I don't have a financial committment or tons of information to work with. Also, I'm willing to consider any software that you might recommend.
Speaking only of systems that use tracking tags, as long as the cms will insert the tag into the footer of the page, and, the analytics system captures keywords, you are good to go. What I do is keywords, key phrases(search term), cross reference between the two, and cross reference between occurences of key words in different key phrases. The information is collated globally, by search engine, by landing page, and by date. It is then further cross referenced to sales.
