Analytics shows most traffic comes from "direct".... What does that mean?

    Analytics always showed most traffic coming from Google, then Yahoo, then msn, then others. In the last couple of days I've noticed most of the traffic now comes from "direct". What does that mean?

    they are bookmarkers or people who put your url in their browser not from another sites link.

    Thats correct, you'll also see if if you do a lot of email marketing and people visit from offline email clients like Outlook.
