Analytics showing 44% bounce rate

    Right now I'm averaging about 100 visitors/day, its a new site (since november 2007).

    I dont know the answer to that, however a method i use...

    Not a sure fire method, as there are many factors as to why someone will leave your site, however, if you select the last month say. then goto content and select content by title

    This will show you which pages with titles are causing the bounce rates.... the ones to look out for are the high ones, for example 100% (there must be something wrong with this page, especially if more than 500 people viewed it say).

    The next thing would be to test something different with this particular page, or look for anything offputting and change!

    This is a very good point and why I am glad to see analytics with industry comparision charts. For one of my sites the industry average is 65% BR and mine is 69% so I consider it within reasonable range of average for my industry/theme.
