I'm not running any CPC campaing or any other advertisement product. I have crowdflower.com as referral in the Google Analytics report, but there are no links to my site there. What does this means? Also, my site is for a Mexican Restaurant, in Xpu Ha, Mexico. Nothing to do with crowdflower, not even close... Regards Alex
Sometimes it happens if the person visited crowdflower.com then go to your site by entering your URL directly in their browser. This is just my guess. You can get detail information using Firefox with Live Http Header extension. It shows you your browser header's status and referral site information etc. Cheers, Felix
Some It is impossible for that to register in GA as a referrer - that just isn't how GA works. If GA says the site is a referrer then there was a l nk -it may have been removed, it may be in a part of the site that you need a log-in to access.
Some firefox plug-in like this one can also give you mystery referral traffic: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/138988/
Magda, I'm with you, but I'm pretty sure there is no link and never were any. This is the site: crowdflower.com. It a site for hiring labor per hour, similar to Amazon Turk. My site is laplayaxpuha.com , this is a restaurant in Mexico. If you run at google "site:crowdflower.com xpu ha" or anything alike, nothing comes. So, I think is a GA error, but if so, how accurate GA is? This is a very small site, with around 600 monthly visits. If you have a 2k daily visits, you'll never find this kind of bugs? Regards Alex
There is no way to check all of the backlinks that exist. Firstly, it may have existed and been used, but that doesn't mean it was ever indexed by a search engine, and if it was in a part of a site that required a login and password, then it won't ever be. Then, if it has been indexed, Google deliberately only shows a small random selection of backlinks with the links operator. More are shown in webmaster tools, but Google still doesn't commit to this being a full list and it updates irregularly. Yahoo site explorer is a pretty good indication of the backlinks that can be found and crawled, but again, a backlink may exist, but never be crawled by a search engine.
