Analytics on wordpress

Does anyone know how to install analytics on a wordpress blog? i tried one plugin but it didn't work.

Also an unrelated question: how accurate is awstats at telling how many uniques a site receives per day?

 

insert your code in the footer code. Its in the Presentation Tab and then click Theme Editor. You should see the different sections of your template you can edit. Click on footer, then insert the code right before </body>

you can put the code at the header.php or footer.php

 

I also have placed in both locations, header and footer as a backup.

 

I have it on my header, I think it's tracking everything correctly, didn't know I could add it twice on the same page!
