Since the middle of last week I have seen a 200%-300% increase in traffic, almost all of it is spammer creating accounts. From my own server side tools I know that the increase is from different IP addresses located all over the world. In other word, there isn't a straight forward rule that can be applied to catch the spammers, (not one that I can see anyway). But looking at Google Analytic it looks like none of the increased traffic is included. If anything it is reporting a slight drop in traffic. From this I can assume 2 things, 1- The spammers don't use Javascript. 2- Google somehow keeps track of spammers and does not count them. I suspect that the reason is #1, but do you think that Google keeps track of spammers in the site counters? FFMG
